It proved to be nothing less than a storybook ending when Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove the Number 3 Wrangler Chevrolet to an emotional win at Daytona for his 23rd career victory. Earnhardt took the lead for the first time during the race on Lap 70 with help from Justin Allgaier which allowed him to push past Kyle Busch on Turns 1 and 2. The race ended in a green-white-checkered flag finish that went 2 laps beyond the scheduled 100.
